Hysteresis = dead band or just band.

A spread of a few degrees at the set point of the thermostat which determines
when the HVAC system is activated and when it stops. It is needed to prevent
short cycling and to avoid having the AC competing with the furnace to control
the room temperature.

it similar to a hissy fit, but its a little different...... i think they
are to put it in they bonnet and take it back to the store to see what
is wrong with its hysteris......
