Make any shower big enough and you need neither door nor curtain.

A number of European (and possibly other areas) showers are actually
the entire bathroom. No doors, no curtains.

A few years ago my wife was in the hospital when we were away from home. I
was able to stay in the room with her and consequently used the shower. The
bathroom room had a sink, toilet, shower. No curtains, no step into the
large shower area. It was nice not to have to worry about curtains, closing
doors, etc. The entire room as washable and had a floor drain.

Makes sense as a wheelchair accessible facility.
