OT Benefits analysis on PV panel

Worked out the benefits of 4Kwp PV array.

£ Electricity.

Outlay for 3.88Kwp PVpanel……….....………….£14,000
Cost of imported electricity………….....……………..£509
FIT Money received from PV electricity generated...£1800
Money saved by using free PV electricity………………£130
Total income if tax is taken into account………………£2570
Return on capital………………………………………...18%

Annual electricity balance. Post PV installation.

Electricity imported from mains…………………...3100Kwh
PV Power generated in year 2011….....…………...4010Kwh
Power used from PV……………………………..….810Kwh
Total power consumed (PV+mains)…….…………3910Kwh
Exported power ……………………………………3200Kwh
Net export……………………………………...…….100Kwh

The split on power used from the PV panel was derived from comparing
pre and post PV installation annual electricity consumption.

5yr guarantee, so should have paid for itself. (If they still exist)
Cost of components seems to be in free fall.

Cost now would be £7000-£8000 depending on how much scaffolding
required.
I have seen "frommers" advertising 4Kwp for £6000

Dunno how long to write it off over. !0yrs?
It allegedly has a 25 year life minimum. So knock a grand off a year?

But then there's inflation and no interest at the bank.

But the price of electritcity will go up and the FIT is inflation
linked. Went up two point something % last April.

Does my 'ead in.
