We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember

Eh? He failed getting in to the cops? Now, oh what a surprise, he acts
like a self-appointed copper. I wonder who nicknamed him "The Sheriff"?
Perhaps himself, mmm? Perhaps the fellows who have to work with him.
I'll have a look at that to see if he throws his weight about very much.
